Reiki - (A Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force Energy)

Rei translates as universal and Ki translates as the vital energy that flows through all living things.  In the United States the National Institute of Health defines Reiki as Energy Medicine.  You may be familiar with the concept defined as:  Chi in Chinese medicine and Prana in Yoga.

Western medicine recognizes the benefits of Reiki treatments and incorporates them to promote healing and maintain wellness.  Additionally, Reiki can balance physical, mental and emotional health.  Reiki practitioners are certified and trained to have Life Force Energy pass through them to the client.  The Energy goes where it is needed with no adverse side effects.  Reiki is a holistic practice, and treatments are available at rehabilitation centers, hospitals and private practice.  Reiki treatments are therapeutic and available without a prescription to anyone of any age or state of health.

During your session you will relax comfortably on a therapy table, fully clothed.  The practitioner will lay her hands on or near your head, limbs and torso.  You will feel deep relaxation, and may experience warmth, tingling or a quieting of the chatter of the mind.  You will receive life force energy effortlessly. You will be aware of the effect of Reiki during and continuing after your session.  A succession of treatments creates an even more profound, cumulative effect.
